Information You Submit
Queries Sent to Search Providers
A name, place, or other term entered in a search box is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Gray County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own system. The provider’s privacy notice governs its receipt and use of the query.
Messages Sent to Us
If you email us or use a contact form, we keep the message and supplied contact details as needed to respond. We do not share those communications outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Ordinary web operations may record technical information when a page loads:
- Your Internet Protocol address.
- Browser name, type, and version.
- Device category and operating system.
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them.
- The referring website, when available.
- Date and time stamps associated with requests.
Cookies and Similar Storage
Cookies help measure how visitors use the site and support site features. Most browsers allow cookies to be limited or blocked. Some functions may work differently when that storage is disabled.
How Information Is Used
- Operate the site and maintain reasonable speed.
- Send a search request to the selected partner service.
- Understand which pages and tools visitors find useful.
- Detect, diagnose, and correct technical faults.
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests.
Websites Beyond Our Control
Links lead to Gray County offices, sheriff and corrections resources, release-record portals, government locators, and third-party search services. Once you leave this site, the destination’s privacy policy and data practices apply.
Some advertising providers may measure activity across multiple websites to select targeted ads. That tracking occurs through the provider’s systems, not a database maintained by Gray County Released Inmates.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Information may be handled by:
- Search partners that process a query you submit.
- Analytics vendors that measure site use.
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure ads.
- Law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order.
Reasonable Security Measures
We use standard safeguards suited to this type of website. No system connected to the internet can be guaranteed secure, however. We cannot promise that unauthorized access, loss, or another security incident will never occur.
Adults Only
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor submitted information so that an appropriate deletion request can be reviewed.
Your Privacy Choices
- Ask for a copy of personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Ask that eligible information be erased.
- Opt out of certain processing where that right applies.
Kansas public records held by Gray County, a court, KDOC, or another agency are controlled by that custodian and the Kansas Open Records Act, including K.S.A. 45-217 and applicable exceptions. A request made to this site cannot alter an agency record.

We may revise this Privacy Notice as practices or legal requirements change. The updated text becomes effective when posted here with a revised effective date.
